How do you minimize off-hire risk during inspections?

We minimize off-hire risk by treating port time as a hard limit, not a suggestion. First, we synchronize the job with cargo operations, pilotage windows and shipyard constraints. Then, we mobilize with calibrated mobile kits so critical checks happen onboard without waiting for shore logistics. In addition, we run LSA + FFE tasks in parallel (where safe): lifeboats/davits/release gear together with extinguishers, SCBA/EEBD and fixed-system checks. As a result, the vessel avoids duplicate attendances and paperwork loops.

For class/flag readiness, we work under IMO MSC.402(96) and keep the record set aligned to SOLAS III/20 expectations. Therefore, documentation is issued the same day in a class-ready pack (report, certificates, serial lists, calibration references, photo log). This reduces “come back tomorrow” delays and keeps the superintendent’s scope clean across the Baltics, Nordics and North Sea trading pattern.

Action:
Combine scope early (LSA + FFE), confirm access (permits, safety zones, power, crew support) and send last certificates and equipment list. We’ll propose the fastest slot and align class/flag witnessing if required.
