Lifeboat and davit inspection covers annual and five-year checks of boats, davits, winches and release gear per MSC.402(96) and SOLAS III/20.
We confirm structural condition, safe operation, and evidence records for class/flag acceptance.
Why it matters: it prevents PSC findings, off-hire and rework at survey.
We execute during port calls with mobile kits and issue same-day class-ready documentation.
Baltic ports typical: Klaipėda, Riga, Tallinn, Gdańsk/Gdynia (Baltics/Nordics/North Sea).
Included (annual scope):
- Equipment ID/serial capture + PTW/toolbox talk.
- Davits: foundations, arms, bearings, limit switches, safe lowering/recovery.
- Winch: controls, gearbox, brake holding, emergency stop.
- Falls/wire & sheaves: condition, reeving, lubrication, alignment.
- Release gear: on-load/off-load test + documented reset/lock-back per maker.
Five-year additions (when applicable):
- Selective dismantling + measurements + NDT (if required).
- 110% SWL proof-load with certified water bags/load cells + witness note.
